The Laird Norton Family’s enthusiasm for philanthropy, established in the early days of the company, is represented by the following:

Created in 1940, the Laird Norton Foundation’s mission is to fund distinctive programs supporting environmental sustainability, protection, education, and conservation. Since 2005, the foundation’s focus has been concentrated on watershed stewardship.

The Winona Foundation contributes to the cultural, historical and educational heritage of Winona, Minnesota, birthplace of the Laird Norton Company. Since 1982, the foundation has been fostering new programs and contributing to existing projects in the Winona area.

The sale of Lanoga enabled LNC to launch this new foundation. The Laird Norton Family Foundation is expected to merge with the Laird Norton Foundation in the future, expanding the number of funding focus areas.

Offered each year, the Member Directed Charitable Contributions Program (MDCCP) enables owners to direct their pro-rata share of the Company's charitable contributions to the non-profit organization(s) of their choice.

Formed by members of the Laird Norton family’s sixth generation, the Sixth Sense Committee is focused on supporting environmental sustainability, youth programs, and community initiatives. The Committee directs a portion of the company’s MDCCP funds and organizes the community service project at the annual Family Retreat.
