In 2006, as part of an investment reorganization plan, the Laird Norton Company invested in new opportunities to create value for the next generation. A funding commitment was made to acquire interest in Northern Lights Capital Group, an investment management firm.

LNC also became a founding investor in Winona Capital Management (WCM), the primary vehicle for private equity investment. Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, WCM directs investments exclusively on behalf of high net-worth families and investors, generating strong after-tax returns through longer-term investments.

Focusing on privately held consumer-driven companies, WCM has particular interest and experience in businesses focused on:
