Chief Executive Officer and President
Jeff Vincent has been leading Laird Norton Company since January of 2001. With more than 30 years of business experience, Jeff has restructured business operations, acquired companies, and directed a variety of strategic initiatives to accelerate growth. Jeff has worked exclusively with privately held family companies for nearly 25 years.
Jeff serves as a director on several boards, including: Laird Norton Company, Laird Norton Properties, Fusion Education Group, Aurora Investment Management and Treasury Group and Laird Norton Wealth Management.
As an active member of his local community, Jeff supports a number of education and at-risk youth initiatives in Washington State. He currently serves as a member of the Washington Roundtable and is a past Chairman of the Washington State Board of Education.
Jeff received a BSBA from Drake University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Vice President, Corporate Investments & Compliance
Brian McGuigan joined Laird Norton Company in 2012 and is primarily responsible for the development and execution of the company’s strategy for direct investments in operating companies and its regulatory compliance program.
Previously, Brian led the Stonnington Group in venture investments, direct investments and investments in private equity funds. He also worked as a technology consultant in the UK and Europe leading high-profile information systems projects for major companies and institutions.
Brian received a BSc in chemical engineering from the University of Cape Town and an MBA from the USC Marshall School of Business. He is a CAIA Charter Holder.
Vice President, Finance & Administration
Sally Simpson joined Laird Norton Company in 2007. As Vice President of the company’s finance and administrative departments, Sally oversees and manages Laird Norton Company’s accounting, finance, and administrative departments as well as investor reporting and treasury management.
Sally has extensive experience in the financial world. She began her career as an auditor in public accounting. She also held Director and Management positions at Savers, Inc., Metropolitan Travel, and Seattle BioMed.
Sally received her BA in Accounting from the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Vice President, Tax
Anthony Cree, Vice President of Tax, joined Laird Norton Company in 2011. Anthony is responsible for leading the tax function within Laird Norton Company, primarily focusing on income tax strategy and tax compliance for Laird Norton Company and its subsidiaries. Prior to joining Laird Norton Company, Anthony was a Tax Director – Income Taxes at ProBuild Holdings LLC, after beginning his career in public accounting firms Bancroft Buckley Johnston & Serres LLP, KPMG LLP and Arthur Anderson LLP.
Anthony has been a tax and accounting professional since 1999 and has specific experience in family-owned pass-through entities, the building materials industry, acquisition-related tax analysis and compliance. Anthony received a BS in business administration from Oregon State University and is a licensed CPA in Washington State. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Tax Executives Institute.
Matt Hill has been with Laird Norton Company since 2015 providing financial analysis, valuation guidance and due diligence for the direct investments and real estate business units. He works on a variety of assignments, including acquisitions, debt and equity financings, long-term strategic planning and portfolio monitoring.
Prior to joining Laird Norton Company, Matt was a Senior Associate in the Valuation Services Group at Grant Thornton, LLP. At Grant Thornton, he conducted valuations for business enterprises, business interests, financial securities and intellectual property across various industry segments. Prior to Grant Thornton, Matt served as a financial analyst in the Asset Liability Management group at State Street performing analysis related to investment portfolio reporting, interest rate risk and balance sheet strategy.
Matt received his BBA in finance from Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business.
